Italy announces recruitment for 450 Penitentiary Police inspectors
The Italian Ministry of Justice, through the Department of Penitentiary Administration, has announced a public competition to fill 450 positions for Trainee Vice Inspectors within the Penitentiary Police. The recruitment aims to address personnel shortages within the corps.
The selection process is designed to be simplified, omitting pre-selection tests and title evaluations. Candidates must hold at least a three-year degree. The examination process includes a multiple-choice written test covering criminal law, criminal procedural law, and penitentiary law, followed by physical, psycho-physical, and aptitude assessments, and an oral exam.
Of the 450 available positions, 75 are reserved for existing personnel of the Corps with at least three years of service. Applications must be submitted by October 29, 2026.
