Italy begins pursuit of 2028 Futsal World Cup qualification

The Italian national futsal team is beginning its campaign to qualify for the 2028 Futsal World Cup. Following two consecutive failed qualification attempts, the squad, led by Salvo Samperi, aims to reclaim its position at the top of European futsal.

Under the UEFA qualification system, the process consists of five stages. Italy has been placed in Group 10 alongside Georgia and Kosovo. The team is scheduled to play its first match against Georgia in Rende on October 20, 2026, with a return match in Georgia set for the spring.
