Italy boosts youth welfare with mobile “Off Limits” program and 100 DesTEENazione centers

Italy strengthened its youth prevention efforts in 2025‑2026. The regional health authority Ulss 4 continued the “Off Limits” project, a mobile unit that operated along the Adriatic coast (Jesolo, Caorle, Bibione, Cavallino Treporti) with 48 planned summer interventions. Over 9,000 young people accessed the service, revealing high rates of binge drinking and risky driving intentions, with 21% indicating they would drive over the legal alcohol limit.

Simultaneously, the national government announced that the DesTEENazione network of community centres for 11‑ to 21‑year‑olds has reached 100 locations. Eight new sites were added in Basilicata, Campania, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily. The expansion is funded with more than €25 million for the new centres and a total investment of roughly €342 million for the whole programme, aiming to enhance inclusion, social‑educational support and early intervention for Italian youth.
