Italy builds inclusive futsal field in Cerignola and revamps Alassio former meat‑packing site into public park
In Cerignola, the cooperative Altereco is constructing a futsal field on land seized from the mafia under Law 109/96. The "Goal Comuni" project aims to foster social inclusion by offering work and training to people with disabilities, ex‑convicts, migrants and others, while providing a community sports venue. The initiative is backed by the Puglia regional "Imprese Possibili" programme.
In Alassio, works have started to transform the former Fenarina meat‑packing plant into an urban park. The redevelopment will create green spaces, children’s playgrounds, an outdoor fitness zone and a bar inside one of the restored historic buildings. The contract, worth €654,545, was awarded to Arimondo Costruzioni and is intended to rejuvenate the neighbourhood and provide new public amenities.
