Italy celebrates 30 years of student consultative bodies
The Italian Ministry of Education and Merit is marking the 30th anniversary of the Provincial Student Consultative Bodies (Consulte Provinciali degli Studenti), which were officially established by Presidential Decree No. 567 on October 10, 1996.
Minister Giuseppe Valditara sent an official message to student representatives to highlight the importance of democratic participation and institutional belonging. In recent years, the relationship between the Ministry and student delegates has become more structured through monthly meetings. This collaboration has led to students being directly involved in drafting the New National Guidelines for High Schools (Nuove Indicazioni Nazionali per i Licei).
Beyond domestic reforms, student delegations have also participated in international forums, including the G7 Education meetings, UNESCO tables, and United Nations summits, as well as discussions regarding Artificial Intelligence and education.
