Italy celebrates Carlo Collodi bicentenary with Pinocchio events
Various cultural events are being organized across Italy to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Carlo Collodi, author of the classic Pinocchio.
In San Benedetto del Tronto, the Festival Fà Volà features a special edition dedicated to the character. The program, promoted by the ‘I Luoghi della Scrittura’ association, includes readings, animations, and an exhibition at Relax that will run until December 31. A specific event at the Auditorium Tebaldini will focus on the life of Carlo Lorenzini, the journalist and patriot behind the famous work.
In Saronno, the Circolo La Bussola is hosting an evening led by writer and playwright Luca Doninelli. The event includes performances by the Compagnia della Ruota to explore the depth of the story, emphasizing themes such as the father-son relationship, freedom, and the human experience that transcend the book's reputation as a children's tale.
