Italy celebrates Grandparents' Day with regional cultural events

Various regional initiatives in Italy are being organized to celebrate Grandparents' Day, focusing on strengthening intergenerational bonds.

In Verona, six cinemas will host free screenings of the animated film “I Racconti del Giardino Incantato” on Saturday, October 3. Promoted by the Verona Municipality's Social Policies department in collaboration with Acec Sdc Triveneta, the event offers over 1,700 free seats. The film, a stop-motion production, follows the story of three siblings and their grandfather. The initiative includes free snacks provided by Matilde Vicenzi and Zuegg.

In Campobasso, the association 50&Più Fenacom Molise will hold the final ceremony for the “Io e i miei nonni” competition on Friday, October 2, at the Istituto Igino Petrone. The contest, aimed at primary school students in the Molise region, encourages children to express their relationships with their grandparents through poems, drawings, and multimedia projects. Winners will receive prizes for educational materials, and all participants will receive certificates of participation.
