Italy coastal discoveries include Roman ruins and marine findings

In the Latina region, underwater research led by Giuseppe Pastore of Appeal Beach has uncovered potential archaeological evidence of an ancient Roman route. Investigations involving underwater photography and drone footage suggest that smooth rock structures near the coast may be linked to the Via Severiana, an imperial-era coastal road. Additionally, findings in the Torre Astura area include amphorae, anchors, and what appears to be a Roman-era vessel.

Separately, in Reggio Calabria, a small shark was found dead on the beach at Punta Pellaro. While the exact species and cause of death remain unconfirmed, the discovery has gained significant attention on social media. Local experts note that while the presence of small sharks is common in the biodiverse waters of the Strait of Messina, the incident posed no danger to swimmers.
