Italy commemorates the tenth anniversary of Tina Anselmi's death

Italian leaders and officials are honoring the legacy of Tina Anselmi, marking ten years since her passing. President Sergio Mattarella described her as a figure who left a deep mark on the history of democratic Italy, noting her journey from a 17-year-old partisan fighter against Nazifascism to becoming the first female minister in Italian history.

Anselmi's political career included significant roles within the Christian Democracy party, where she focused on labor, women's rights, and social assistance. As Minister of Labor, she supported legislation for equal pay and treatment in the workplace. As Minister of Health, she played a decisive role in the establishment of the National Health Service.

Additionally, Anselmi is remembered for her leadership of the commission investigating the P2 Masonic lodge, a role that made her a symbol of the fight against corruption and occult power. Daniela Fumarola, leader of the Cisl union, also praised Anselmi for her commitment to social justice, freedom, and the fundamental values of participation.
