Italy conducts road safety awareness campaigns in Palermo and Senigallia

Road safety awareness initiatives are being conducted across Italy to promote responsible behavior and prevent accidents related to alcohol and drug consumption.

In Palermo, the “Questa sera guido io” (Tonight I drive) campaign reached local venues and beach resorts. Organized by the State Police in collaboration with the ANIA Foundation and various hospitality federations, the initiative encourages the use of a “designated driver.” To support this, organizers distributed non-alcoholic drinks and single-use breathalyzers to help young people assess their sobriety before driving.

In Senigallia, the Local Police and the Italian Red Cross held an educational event in Piazza Roma. The program featured a “sobriety path” where participants used special glasses that simulate impaired vision, motor coordination, and reaction times caused by substance abuse. The event aimed to engage youth and families through interactive quizzes and simulations to highlight the dangers of impaired driving.
