Italy court ruling limits balcony hedge height

Legal rulings in Italy have addressed conflicts regarding the height of hedges on apartment balconies. According to a decision by the Court of Lecce (sent. n. 2226 of July 15, 2013), vegetation on a balcony should generally remain within the height of the balcony railing.

This limit is intended to prevent residents from invading the visual space of neighbors or obstructing their access to light and air. The ruling aims to balance a homeowner's desire for privacy with the rights of neighbors to maintain their views and environmental comfort.
