Italy defeats Brazil 3-1 in FIPAV Cup volleyball tournament

The Italian men's national volleyball team concluded the FIPAV Cup Men Elite tournament with a 3-1 victory over Brazil in Messina. Despite losing the first set 21-25, Italy rallied to win the subsequent three sets with scores of 25-20, 25-18, and 25-20.

Played before a sold-out crowd of 4,100 at the PalaRescifina, the match served as a critical preparation tool for Italy ahead of the European Championships starting September 10. Italian captain Simone Giannelli noted that the team showed strong cohesion and technical progress during the intense tournament period.

For Brazil, the defeat follows a victory against Germany earlier in the competition. The Brazilian squad, led by coach Bernardinho, will use the remaining preparation period to focus on upcoming challenges, including the South American Championship and the Olympic qualifying tournament in Rio de Janeiro.
