Italy diving squad aims for medals at 2026 European Championships

The Italian diving team, coached by Oscar Bertone, is preparing for the 2026 European Championships in Paris with the goal of winning medals. Leading the squad are Chiara Pellacani, who earned bronze in both the 1‑metre and 3‑metre events during the World Cup season, and Matteo Santoro, who will compete in his first major individual finals and is targeting podium finishes.

The team’s free‑diving group has shown consistent success, securing silver in Paris, bronze in Xi’an, silver in Pontevedra and a second‑place finish at the Super Final in Toronto. Despite the injury‑related absence of Sofia Tabbiani, the squad remains confident, adding new pairings such as Lucrezia Ruggiero with Enrica Piccoli in the women’s technical double and a mixed technical duo that recently won silver in Toronto. The combined experience and fresh formations are expected to give Italy a strong chance of medalling at the upcoming European Championships.
