Italy dominates rhythmic gymnastics at Chieti pre‑Worlds tournament

The International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament was held at the Palatricalle in Chieti, Italy, with national teams from Italy, France, Germany, San Marino and Syria. Italy’s Sofia Raffaeli won the individual all‑around gold with a total of 119.000 points, followed by Germany’s Viktoria Steinfeld (silver) and Italy’s Viola Sellar (bronze). Margherita Fucci placed fourth.

In the team competition the Italian squad – Serena Ottaviani, Sofia Sicignano, Chiara Badii, Bianca Vignozzi, Sasha Mukhina and Gaia Pozzi – secured first place with 51.650 points, narrowly ahead of Germany. The combined scores also gave Italy the top spot in the nation ranking with 170.650 points. The event served as a test‑event ahead of the World Championships in Frankfurt (12‑16 August) and as a qualifier for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
