Italy economic projections show Bolzano and Naples leading growth

Economic projections for 2026 indicate varied growth rates across Italian territories. According to estimates from CER and UPB, Italy's national GDP growth is expected to reach 0.9%.

Bolzano is projected to lead major cities with a 1.8% growth rate, slightly ahead of Rome and Milan, which are both forecasted at 1.6%. In the southern region, Naples is identified as a primary economic driver with a projected growth of 1.5%, significantly higher than the southern average of 0.8%.

Regional data shows Trentino-Alto Adige leading with 1.5% growth, followed by Lazio and Tuscany at 1.2%. Conversely, Valle d'Aosta is the only region projected to experience negative growth at -0.1%.

Inflationary pressures vary significantly by location. Reggio Calabria is expected to face the highest price increases in the country at 4.3%, followed by Naples at 3.5%.
