Italy: Electric collar seizure leads to animal cruelty charges

Authorities in Italy have seized an electric shock collar used on a dog to prevent barking during the owner's absence. Following reports, zoophile guards from OIPA and local police conducted an investigation, discovering the device was a highly sensitive electric pulse collar. The owner, a 50-year-old man, faces criminal charges for animal cruelty and for keeping the animal in conditions incompatible with its nature.

In response to the incident, animal rights organizations, including the Partito Animalista Italiano and Animal Pride Defending Association, have formally requested the permanent revocation of the owner's hunting license and firearm permit. These groups are also pursuing legal action to ensure the protection of other dogs involved and to facilitate the transfer of the affected animal to a recovery facility.
