Cascina: Council tension over school zone safety

Dario Rollo, leader of the Valori e Impegno Civico – LED group, has criticized the Cascina municipal administration following a heated city council session regarding safety near the San Frediano middle school. Rollo demanded concrete measures, such as electronic gates or barriers, to enforce transit bans during student arrival and departure times following reports of reckless driving.

Rollo accused Mayor Betti and Vice Mayor Masi of responding to his safety inquiries with personal jokes and insults rather than actionable solutions. Following the exchange, opposition groups including Lega, VIC-LED, and Fdi requested a suspension of proceedings, and all opposition members subsequently left the chamber after the mayor failed to issue an apology.
