Italy expands ‘Buono Scuola’ vouchers for private school students
Italy's Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, has announced an expansion of the ‘Buono Scuola’ (School Voucher) program to support families enrolling children in private schools. The measure aims to provide up to 1,500 euros per student for families with an ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator) not exceeding 30,000 euros.
The subsidy is applicable to students enrolled in the first two years of secondary school or in the first grade of secondary school within the private school system. This initiative is part of a broader funding plan for private institutions, which included the signing of decrees in January 2025 allocating over 750 million euros toward various educational supports, including funds for students with disabilities and kindergarten services.
