Italy expands digital radio DAB+ coverage with new transmitters
The Aeranti‑Corallo consortium continues rolling out DAB+ digital radio networks across Italy. Recent weeks have seen the activation of numerous new transmitters, extending service coverage in Lombardy, Veneto, Friuli‑Venezia Giulia, Liguria and Emilia‑Romagna. In Lombardy, sites at Cremona and Monte Goi (CO) joined existing transmitters in Milan, Breda, Valcava (BG) and Campo dei Fiori (VA); Selvapiana (BS) also began operation on block 6A.
In the Veneto basin, a new transmitter at Faveghera (BL) was switched on, with Jesolo (VE) slated for activation shortly, adding to existing sites such as Terranegra (PD) and Verona Sud (VR). Radio Digitale Veneto launched transmitters on Monte Cero (PD), Padova Terranegra (PD), Verona Sud (VR) and Col Visentin (TV). Friuli‑Venezia Giulia added a site at Pedrosa (UD), Liguria activated Monte Parodi (SP), and Emilia‑Romagna brought online Colle Barbiano (BO) and Monte Cavallo (FC). All deployments follow the implementation plans submitted to the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy for frequency‑use rights, with further activations scheduled.
