Italy expands local access to judicial services via proximity offices
Local administrations in Italy are expanding the reach of judicial services through the inauguration and reinforcement of 'Ufficio di Prossimità' (Proximity Offices). These offices are designed to bring legal assistance closer to citizens, reducing the need to travel to central courts for various administrative procedures.
In Telese Terme, the opening of the first local judicial office aims to simplify access to information and legal requirements for the surrounding area. The initiative is intended to strengthen public services by addressing the daily needs of the population and providing a local point of reference for justice administration.
In San Gimignano, part of a broader Tuscan regional network that includes 30 service points across 76 municipalities, the office provides free assistance for legal practices. Beyond bureaucratic simplification, local officials emphasize the service's social value, noting its role in supporting individuals facing isolation or economic hardship.
