Italy expects 27 million vehicle movements during summer exodus

Italy is experiencing a massive summer exodus, with an estimated 27 million vehicle movements expected between Friday, July 24, and Sunday, July 26. The surge in travel is driven by vacationers heading to coastal and mountain destinations, as well as medium-range trips and visits to second homes.

To manage the heavy traffic load, authorities have suspended or closed 175 construction sites, representing 83% of active sites on the network, to reduce bottlenecks. Additionally, heavy vehicle circulation bans are in effect during peak hours: Friday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
