Italy traffic and safety warnings for Halloween and All Saints' Day

ANAS, the Italian road network operator, has issued warnings regarding increased traffic volumes during the Halloween and All Saints' Day holiday weekend. Officials expect significant movement from major urban centers on Saturday morning and toward large cities on Sunday afternoon. Drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution, avoid driving under the influence of alcohol, and refrain from using mobile phones while operating vehicles.

In separate incidents, a driver narrowly escaped injury in Positano after their car went off the road and became perched on a cliff edge near Montepertuso. Emergency services, including the fire brigade and Carabinieri, used heavy cranes to recover the vehicle.

In Montemiletto, Avellino, five teenagers aged 15 to 16 were injured when a car crashed through a safety railing and fell into a ravine. Two of the minors were hospitalized in red code, though officials report they are not in life-threatening condition. Preliminary investigations suggest the driver, who did not have a license, took the vehicle without permission.
