Italy explores new regional development models through labor and social inclusion
In Italy, regional organizations and unions are promoting new models for territorial development through labor and social inclusion. In Siena, the trade unions Cgil, Cisl, and Uil are organizing a public initiative to discuss a development protocol signed on August 31. This protocol, described by unions as a “historic success,” aims to create a collective pact to boost regional attractiveness and growth, potentially serving as a national model for institutional and union synergy.
In Piedmont, the Fondazione Industriali ETS is presenting a project titled “Good work at the service of the territory” during the Terra Madre event. The initiative focuses on using employment as a tool for autonomy for fragile individuals. The foundation acts as a facilitator between individual training paths and companies or public administrations. Discussions include developing vocational paths for minors in detention to provide alternatives through training and accompaniment, similar to existing programs in the Alba prison vineyards.
