Italy extends emergency status for Como and Brianza

The Italian Council of Ministers has approved a 12-month extension of the state of emergency for the province of Como and several municipalities in the Brianza region. This extension, proposed by Civil Protection Minister Nello Musumeci, addresses the consequences of extreme rainfall that occurred between September 10 and 13, 2025.

The emergency status covers several municipalities in the province of Monza, including Barlassina, Bovisio Masciago, Cesano Maderno, Giussano, Lentate sul Seveso, Limbiate, Meda, Seveso, and Varedo.

Additionally, the government has allocated 5.6 million euros for urgent interventions in the provinces of Gorizia and Udine, utilizing funds from the national emergency fund.
