Italy extends environmental permit for Lince gas well

The Italian Ministry of Environment has issued a decree extending the environmental compatibility of the Lince exploratory well project for five years. The permit, held jointly by Eni and Energean, covers drilling activities in the coastal areas between Licata and Gela.

This decision follows a favorable opinion from the technical commission for environmental impact assessment (Via-Vas) and clearance from the regional department of cultural heritage. The Lince project is part of a broader strategic gas hub in the region, which includes the Argo-Cassiopea production site and the Gemini well activities.
