Italy fields 44 fencers for 2026 European Softair Championships in Prague

The Italian federation Fencing Sport Chanbara Italia (FESCI) will send a 44‑strong delegation to the European Championships of Japanese‑style softair fencing in Prague, scheduled for 12–14 June 2026. The team will be overseen by technical director Diego Falco, technical commissioners Valerio Aliberti and Christian Cappuccio, and supported by federation officials including President Amalia Veglia Tranchese. Veteran world champion Chiara Contesimo will serve as a senior figure for the younger athletes, whose goal is to reach the top of the podium.

Meanwhile, the broader European fencing calendar for 2026 places the senior championships in Antony, France, from 16–21 June. Italy will field 25 athletes across twelve individual and team events, guided by technical staff such as Simone Vanni (foil) and Diego Confalonieri (épée). The finals will be televised on Rai Sport HD and streamed via Rai Play, Eurosport 1 HD, DAZN, Discovery Plus, HBO Max and OA Sport.
