Italy Green Film Festival launches Summer Edition in Carloforte, Sardinia

The Italy Green Film Festival, previously staged in Rome’s major cultural venues, announced its first Summer Edition to take place from 6 to 8 August on the island of San Pietro, in the town of Carloforte, Sardinia. The festival’s executive director Silvia Armeni highlighted the island’s reputation for sustainability – it was named Italy’s most sustainable island for 2025 and is an Oasi LIPU known for the migrating Falco della Regina – as a natural fit for the event’s environmental and social focus.

The three‑day program will combine film screenings, exhibitions, talks and workshops, including a photography show by Alessandra Cossu, Green Talks with marine biologist Piero Addis, and a gala fundraiser for the local Croce Azzurra. Awards will be presented to science communicator Roberto Giacobbo, TV presenter Tessa Gelisio and actor Hal Yamanouchi, among other Sardinian artists. Founder and artistic director Pierre Marchionne said the choice of a remote, nature‑rich location aims to foster a “new humanism” through dialogue between people, nature and culture.
