Italy heating regulations set for 2026-2027 winter season

For the 2026-2027 winter season, heating regulations in Italy will follow the guidelines established by DPR n. 74 of 2013, based on specific climatic zones. These regulations dictate the permitted dates and daily operating hours for thermal systems.

In climatic Zone E, which includes municipalities such as Tirano, Bianzone, and Villa di Tirano, heating is permitted from October 15, 2026, to April 15, 2027, for a maximum of 14 hours per day between 5:00 and 23:00. Temperature limits apply, with a maximum of 18°C for industrial and artisanal buildings and 20°C for all other buildings. In contrast, Zone F, including areas like Aprica, Grosio, and Teglio, faces no national restrictions on heating periods or daily hours.

The national framework categorizes Italy into zones A through F. Zone A allows heating from December 1 to March 15 for up to 6 hours daily, while Zone D allows heating from November 1 to April 15 for up to 12 hours daily. Local mayors retain the authority to adjust these periods and hours based on specific regional needs.
