In Sicily, temperatures have already reached critical levels, with Caltanissetta and Enna recording 42.7 degrees Celsius. The Ministry of Health is monitoring 27 provincial capitals, with nine cities—including Rome, Bari, Cagliari, Campobasso, Catania, Latina, Messina, Palermo, and Reggio Calabria—expected to be under level 3 red alert on Friday.
Authorities in several regions, including Lazio and Campania, have issued emergency ordinances and warnings.
