Italy highway accidents block sections of A12 near Genoa and A14 near Senigallia

On 24 July 2026 a fire‑involved vehicle caused a major incident in the Monte Sperone tunnel on the A12 near Genoa east, forcing the closure of the stretch toward Livorno. Traffic was diverted onto the A7 and A10, creating long queues and prompting authorities to advise motorists to exit at Genova Ovest and re‑enter the A12 further east.

Later the same day an accident occurred on the A14 between the Senigallia and Montemarciano toll stations, southbound. Firefighters, road police and ambulance crews responded; the cause and the condition of those involved were not immediately known. The incident slowed traffic in the area while emergency services secured the scene.
