Italy holds peace initiatives and demonstrations regarding Gaza

Various initiatives in Italy are focusing on peace and the humanitarian situation in Gaza. In Salerno, the 2026 Festa dei Popoli will feature the Palestinian community, including 15 children from Gaza who were previously injured and have since been welcomed by local Campania communities. The event, themed ‘GenerAzione, la visione si fa movimento’, aims to promote interaction and cultural exchange through workshops and performances.

In Bari, the Partito Democratico Puglia is participating in a demonstration organized by the Carnia per la Pace collective. The event centers on the arrival of the ‘Sudario delle bambine e dei bambini di Gaza’, a shroud over 25 meters long inscribed with the names of 18,457 Palestinian infants, children, and youths killed in the Gaza Strip between October 7, 2023, and May 2025. The demonstration will include a silent procession through the city to advocate for international law, civilian protection, and a two-state solution.
