Italy holds various national commemorative ceremonies

Various commemorative events took place across Italy to honor historical figures and fallen service members. In Cervignano del Friuli, the XII National Day in Memory of Non-Commissioned Officers Fallen in Service was held. Organized by the UNSI (National Union of Italian Non-Commissioned Officers) and supported by the Ministry of Defence, the event brought together delegations from across the country. The ceremony included a mass, a procession, and official speeches at the Monument to the Fallen, emphasizing the essential role of non-commissioned officers within the armed forces.

In Potenza Picena, the “A Rose for Norma Cossetto” event was held to remember the Istrian woman who was killed in 1943. The commemoration, organized by the February 10 Committee, honored her as a symbol of human dignity and a victim of wartime violence. Local authorities participated in the ceremony, which serves as a reminder against violence toward women and the oppression of individuals.
