Pro-Palestine demonstrations sweep Italy and Europe

On October 10, 2026, widespread demonstrations occurred across Italy and several European cities as part of a 'Global Day of Action' organized by the Global Alliance for Palestine. In Italy, more than 50 cities participated, including major hubs like Rome, Milan, Turin, Bologna, Naples, and Catania.

In Rome, thousands marched toward La Sapienza University, demanding an immediate end to Israeli military operations in Gaza and the unhindered entry of humanitarian aid. In Milan, approximately 5,000 people marched through the city center, calling for a total embargo and the termination of all commercial and military agreements with Israel. In Naples, activist Greta Thunberg addressed a crowd, criticizing government policies.

In Sicily, a 70-meter cloth was displayed in Comiso and Catania, listing the names of 18,500 Palestinian children killed in Gaza to honor the victims. Other regional protests included a march in Brescia toward the Leonardo company and a large gathering of 6,000 people in Cagliari.

Across Europe, significant mobilizations were also reported in Berlin, Paris, and London. In Berlin, roughly 3,500 people demonstrated in front of the Federal Chancellery, while protesters in Turin reported moments of tension with police.
