Italy hosts academic conferences on embodied cognition and music therapy

Various academic and professional initiatives in Italy are exploring the intersection of physical embodiment, music, and education.

In Verona, the Conservatorio Evaristo Felice Dall’Abaco and the University of Verona are hosting an international conference on October 10 regarding music therapy and vibroacoustics. The event focuses on how sound can be transmitted through touch to impact health and well-being. This work is part of the national PROBEN2 project, funded by the Ministry of University and Research, which includes the ConSon study investigating the effects of receptive music therapy on student stress levels.

Additionally, an event titled ‘The Body Does Not Lie’ will take place on October 31 at Palazzo Cordellina in Vicenza. This initiative, led by pedagogy researchers, examines the role of corporeality in educational processes. The program aims to bridge the gap between embodied cognition, pedagogy, and expressive arts such as theater and music to foster a more holistic approach to learning and human development.
