Italy hosts archaeological tours and art exhibitions in September
Various archaeological and artistic events are scheduled across Italy for September. The Appia Antica Archaeological Park is offering guided tours throughout the month at several locations, including the Antiquarium of Lucrezia Romana, the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella and Castrum Caetani, and the Villa di Sette Bassi excavations.
In Ischia, the Pithecusae Archaeological Museum at Villa Arbusto will host the ‘Past in Future’ event from September 11 to 14, 2026. This exhibition features a dialogue between ancient Chinese terracotta artifacts from the Han and Tang dynasties and European goldsmithing traditions ranging from the 17th to the 20th century. The event is set in the location of the Nestor Cup, one of the oldest known examples of Greek writing.
