Italy hosts botanical festivals and scientific lectures on plant intelligence

Italy is hosting two upcoming events focused on botanical science and horticulture. The ninth edition of the Verde Grazzano festival is scheduled for September 26 and 27 at the Parco del Castello di Grazzano Visconti. This exhibition-market features nursery experts, artists, and artisans, showcasing specialized plant varieties including tropical species and bearded irises.

Additionally, the Giubbe Verdi di San Martino dall’Argine will host a scientific lecture on September 5 titled ‘The Intelligence of Plants’. Led by naturalist Sara Boninsegna, the session will explore how plants perceive environmental stimuli, communicate via chemical and electrical signals, and interact with microorganisms. The event aims to highlight the importance of biodiversity and the impact of climate change on ecosystems.
