Italy hosts classic Regate delle Isole and offshore Palermo‑Montecarlo sailing races

The third edition of the Regate delle Isole will take place in Imperia from 10 to 12 September 2026. Organized by the Porto Maurizio Yacht Club with several partner clubs, the event will feature a flexible route that lets the weather decide the course. The fleet of about forty boats includes modern racers and classic yachts such as the 1982 Alpa 11.50 "Blue Shadow", the 1972 "Sandra", the 1951 yawl "Aleph" and historic vessels from the Yacht Classic RH collection, as well as ships from the Marina Militare.

Meanwhile, the Trapanese section of the Italian Naval League is preparing the 40‑foot yacht Querida for the offshore Palermo‑Montecarlo regatta, a roughly 500‑mile race that will see around fifty crews from across Europe. Armatrice Ester Puzzangaro and skipper Toti Stabile lead a ten‑person crew, aiming to complete the passage safely while live‑streaming the event. The race starts in Palermo and finishes in Montecarlo, highlighting both competitive sailing and regional promotion.
