Italy hosts forums on longevity and the Silver Economy
Two major events in Italy are focusing on the economic and social implications of increasing longevity. The Abruzzo Longevity Forum opened in Pescara to discuss active aging, primary prevention, and regional strategies to improve quality of life. Regional President Marco Marsilio noted that while life expectancy in Abruzzo is 83.4 years, the average years lived in good health is 58.9, highlighting the need to focus on the quality of life and the development of sustainable communities.
Simultaneously, INNOWEEK 2026 is being held in Curinga, Calabria, centered on the ‘Silver & Longevity Economy’. The event, themed ‘The Longevity Era’, brings together over 100 speakers, experts, and investors from four continents. The forum addresses how extended lifespans are transforming sectors such as healthcare, finance, labor, welfare, housing, tourism, and services, featuring participation from international representatives in fields ranging from metabolic health to global investment.
