Italy hosts free pet microchipping events in Albano Laziale and Porto Torres

Local authorities in Italy are organizing free microchipping services for pets to promote responsible ownership and aid in animal identification.

In Albano Laziale, a free microchipping event for dogs and cats will take place on Sunday, October 4, starting at 10:00 AM at the Convento dei Frati Cappuccini. Organized in conjunction with the Feast of San Francesco, the initiative involves the Municipality of Albano Laziale, ASL Roma 6, and Fare Ambiente. In addition to microchipping, canine trainers will be present to provide guidance on animal behavior and management.

In Porto Torres, veterinarians from the ASL di Sassari will offer microchipping services on Friday, October 9, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Multiservizi location. Residents must book in advance at the compagnia barracellare office during specific windows on October 1 or October 5. While the service is open to animals from other municipalities, owners must provide identification, tax codes, and canine registry data during the booking process.
