Italy hosts inclusive sporting events to promote accessibility

Various inclusive sporting events are being organized across Italy to promote accessibility and physical activity for all abilities.

In Bologna, the “Bologna Sport Day 2026” is scheduled for September 27 at Giardini Margherita. The event aims to break down barriers of age, gender, and physical ability, offering approximately 60 different disciplines. Supported by organizations such as CONI and Sport e Salute, 115 local sports associations will participate to allow citizens to experience various activities in a festive environment.

In Alta Badia, the “Inclusive Days” event focused on mountain accessibility. Organized by Movimënt Alta Badia and Freerider Sport Events ASD, the initiative allowed participants to test off-road wheelchairs, handbikes, and e-bikes on mountain terrain. The event also served to map accessible trails, identifying areas like Piz La Ila and Piz Sorega as more reachable via lift systems.
