Italy hosts literary and educational initiatives focused on legality and anti-mafia efforts
Various cultural and educational initiatives in Italy are highlighting themes of social responsibility, legality, and the fight against organized crime.
In Casapesenna, the second edition of the National Literary Prize ‘Agrorinasce – Literature for Social Issues and Legality’ has reached its final stage. Fifteen authors are competing for awards in five categories. The winners will be announced on October 27 at the ‘Rosario Livatino’ Youth Aggregation Center, a facility previously confiscated from the Camorra. The event is a collaboration between Agrorinasce, the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, and Terra Somnia Editore, aimed at promoting works that address civil commitment and social redemption.
In Vibo Valentia, author Sebastiano Buglisi met with students during the Festival del Sud – Valentia in Festa. Discussing his book ‘L’antimafia dei fatti’, Buglisi engaged in a dialogue with youth regarding the impact of the mafia and the importance of civic engagement. During the event, the Fondazione Valentia presented Buglisi with the Protome Prize for his professional and human contributions. The meeting also addressed the need for better professional opportunities in Calabria to encourage young people to remain and contribute to their local territory.
