Italy hosts major beach sports tournaments in Ostia and Cesenatico

Italy is hosting significant beach sports competitions in Ostia and Cesenatico. In Ostia, the Golden Gala 2026 footvolley tournament took place at the Hakuna Matata beach, organized by Asd Ostia Calcio 1884 and the Footvolley School. The event featured sixteen championship pairs, with Michael Zaccagnini and Ludovico Alonzi securing first place. Emiliano Scarchilli was named the tournament's best player.

Meanwhile, Cesenatico is hosting the ITF Beach Tennis Sand Series at the Arena Beach. As one of only four Sand Series tournaments globally in 2026, the event attracts top international athletes competing for a total prize pool of $100,000. The tournament includes men's, women's, and mixed doubles, with participants representing 16 different nations. The schedule also features various national level competitions for youth and veteran categories.
