Italy hosts Mazara del Vallo immigration forum as radio host sparks controversy over remigration

A public meeting on immigration, integration and community peace will be held in Mazara del Vallo on 7 July 2026 at the Centro Operatori di Pace. Organized by the Consulta dei Migranti, the forum will bring together religious leaders, local politicians from parties such as the Democratic Party, Five Star Movement, Lega and others, and representatives of migrant communities to discuss concrete issues of daily life, rights and responsibilities.

Meanwhile, radio presenter Giuseppe Cruciani engaged in a heated on‑air dispute with Erika Capasso, a member of Bologna mayor Matteo Lepore’s office. Cruciani accused Capasso of racism and threatened her, while Capasso rejected the notion of free speech for extremist remarks and defended her stance against “supremacist” ideas in the debate over remigration.
