Italy hosts multi‑day Dolomites trek and literary Letino trek

The Club Alpino Italiano (CAI) Rimini section announced an eight‑stage, high‑altitude trekking itinerary in the Dolomites, running from Saturday 29 August to Saturday 5 September 2026. The route starts at Passo delle Erbe in Bolzano and finishes in San Martino di Castrozza, Trento, covering varied terrain with daily distances of 7–22 km and elevation changes up to 1,250 m. Fifteen places are available; participants must pay a €100 deposit and register by 28 February 2026. The contact for the outing is Max Zannoni (cell 349 2352679).

Separately, the cultural initiative “Un Borgo di Libri” will hold a literary trekking event in the small town of Letino, Campania, on Sunday 2 August. The two‑hour walk, guided by CAI member Franco Panella, will feature talks on the mythic Lete by linguist Raffaella Izzo, local historian Bruno Tommasiello, and others, with support from the Carabinieri biodiversity unit. Participants can view traditional costumes and taste local Matese products at the conclusion of the trek.
