Italy hosts National Urban Trekking Day on October 31

The 23rd National Urban Trekking Day will take place on October 31, promoting sustainable tourism through walking tours in various Italian locations. This year's theme, “San Francesco 1226-2026: On the Tracks of the Essential,” focuses on historical, spiritual, and cultural heritage.

In Cividale del Friuli, a 2-kilometer itinerary titled “The Essential” will guide participants through vineyards, museums, and the historic center. The route includes the Devil's Bridge, the Santa Maria in Valle monastery complex, and the CIPS museum. The tour departs from Palazzo De Nordis at 15:00.

In the Liguria region, Albenga, Finale Ligure, and Savona are participating in a joint initiative. Due to high demand, additional afternoon sessions have been added in Albenga and Finale Ligure. The tours will explore medieval historic centers, Franciscan sites, and Roman ruins, such as the San Clemente Roman Baths. A free shuttle service will connect the three cities.
