Italy hosts third Space Economy States General at Farnesina

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani is participating in the third edition of the States General of the Space Economy at the Farnesina. Organized by the Parliamentary Intergroup for the Space Economy, led by Deputy Andrea Mascaretti, the event brings together diplomats, public administrations, and industry leaders.

The program includes two roundtables focused on national space strategy and Italy’s role in addressing global challenges. A second session will address international cooperation opportunities and the essential role of private companies in developing the space sector.

The meeting highlights the strategic importance of the space economy for Italian foreign policy. This comes as Italy prepares for significant international roles, including the Presidency of the European Space Agency (ESA) Council for 2025–2028, the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) for 2026–2028, and the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) for 2026–2027.
