Italy hosts stone heritage and sustainable architecture events

Italy is hosting two distinct events focused on the historical and future applications of natural stone. In Acquasanta Terme, the Travertine Symposium will take place on September 19 and 20. Organized by the Municipality of Acquasanta Terme and the Museo Diffuso del Travertino Acquasantano (MuTA), the event aims to celebrate the region's identity and the cultural importance of travertine in local architecture and history.

Separately, the Marmomac exhibition at Veronafiere will feature the “On Stone – Learning from Lessinia” showcase from September 22 to 25. Curated by architect Joseph Grima, the exhibition explores ancient construction techniques from the Lessinia region to address modern climate challenges. The project aims to demonstrate how natural stone can serve as a sustainable material for contemporary architecture rather than just a relic of the past.
