Italy marks 82nd anniversary of Liberation with regional commemorations

Various Italian municipalities and provinces are holding events to mark the 82nd anniversary of the Liberation from Nazifascism.

In Calci, Mayor Valentina Ricotta emphasized the duty to protect collective memory and promote democratic reconciliation. The town's commemorations include a book presentation regarding a local partisan. In Pesaro, the city has organized a calendar of institutional ceremonies, historical deep dives, and cultural events, including wreath-laying at various monuments and a documentary screening.

The Province of Prato has introduced a coordinated program titled ‘The Liberation of the Province of Prato: From Nazi-Fascist Occupation to Freedom,’ which synchronizes initiatives across seven municipalities, including educational activities and public meetings. In Sesto Fiorentino, the Liberi Tutti Festival commemorates the anniversary through music and theater, featuring a performance by the band 99 Posse. Additionally, Frascati will host a documentary screening at the Museo Tuscolano to remember the 1943 bombings.
