Italy expands cardiac emergency preparedness and training

Various Italian municipalities and organizations are intensifying efforts to improve emergency cardiac response through training and equipment upgrades.

In Ascoli, the local government is investing 20,000 euros to enhance the defibrillator network, which includes purchasing 12 new devices and maintaining existing ones through the Croce Verde. In Alessandria, the Lions Club has donated a new defibrillator to the PalaCima sports complex to ensure safety for athletes and students.

Educational initiatives are also widespread. The Croce Rossa Italiana is conducting public awareness campaigns, including flash mobs and training stands in Legnano to teach cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Other regional programs include pediatric life-saving maneuver courses in Jesi and free defibrillator training for students in Civitanova Marche. Additionally, organizations like 112 Bimbi Odv are providing first aid instruction to the public.
