Italy announces tax deadlines and electric vehicle charging subsidies

Italy is implementing several fiscal and economic measures. The Agenzia delle Entrate has set a September 30 deadline for the 730 pre-filled tax return, offering extra telephone assistance on September 19 and 26 to assist taxpayers.

In the energy sector, the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy has launched the 'Bonus Colonnine' to support electric vehicle charging infrastructure. This initiative provides an 80% reimbursement for the purchase and installation of wallboxes, capped at 1,500 euros for individuals and 8,000 euros for apartment buildings. Applications open on September 22, 2026, via the Invitalia platform.

Additionally, Sicily has introduced a tax amnesty measure allowing citizens to settle unpaid vehicle taxes and regional fees without interest or penalties until October 31, 2026. Meanwhile, a new rental bonus for separated or divorced parents is being prepared under the 2026 Budget Law, potentially offering up to 500 euros per month to help cover housing costs.
